Minneapolis is home after west coast to east coast and back again. Working to be the adult I needed as a kid. She/her.
Proud former Minnesotan. Somali immigrants have been welcomed and naturalized. Keep going fellow citizens.
I am a citizen and so are majority of Somalis in America. Good luck celebrating a policy change that really doesn’t have much impact on the Somalis you love to hate. We are here to stay 💁🏽‍♀️

Just read “If Beale St could Talk”. He had quite the voice. Will look for more.

We should not be surprised where America is now, after all, there was a time white men wouldn’t allow white women to have anything “without permission”.

Since the Ezra & Ta-Nehisi discussion is still happening: the main point I think most are missing is that Klein is saying the role of the journalist-intellectual is to do strategic politics, whereas Coates says the role of the journalist-intellectual is to tell the truth

Am enjoying mine! Grateful to have solid EV options.
Polestar 3 sets a Guinness World Record for longest drive by a production electric SUV—581.3 mi (935.4 km) on one charge. Achieved in the UK with a single-motor RWD model at 12.1 kWh/100 km. It’s the SUV champ, though the Lucid Air sedan still holds the overall EV record at 749 mi (1,205 km). #EVs
The Polestar 3 Just Set A New Range Record
The electric crossover drove a lot more than its official EPA rating.

In this commentary, @dbrauer.net makes the argument that Saturday's mayoral endorsement does matter, and that it punches a hole in Frey's air of inevitability. Brauer writes in response to our editor Patrick's newsletter saying endorsement means very little. minnesotareformer.com/2025/07/24/t...

This company was a huge part of San Jose in my mom’s time and my growing up. Such a snap shot of changes.
Del Monte Foods, the nearly 140-year-old company whose canned fruits and vegetables have long been grocery store staples, has filed for bankruptcy as it grapples with mounting debt, post-pandemic headwinds and shifts in consumer spending.

Brilliant. For minds that don’t always follow the plot, The Onion is a really good plot to follow!
I got permission to share this, and I'm extremely grateful for that.

The Onion got this letter from one of our subscribers in Alaska. She works with dementia patients and decided to leave a copy in the car for each one.

This email made my year. Read it and you'll see what I mean. People are good.

Today's Planned Parenthood decision was a devasting blow to women, and it wasn't even about abortion. It was a devasting blow to civil rights, and it wasn't even about Civil Rights.
It's one of the worst decisions from this SCOTUS, worse than you probably think.

The tangible absence of poverty. LFG!
Let's reframe our entire conversation on what makes a community safe.

It's not the visible presence of enforcement, but the tangible absence of poverty.

The clearest path to get there is through commitments to affordable housing and high-quality public education for everyone.

EVERYONE.

On a day that started with political violence this is incredible! I attended a smaller local protest and appreciated the action and community.
The day started with tragedy with political violence in MN and instead of being scared, neighbors SHOWED UP to stand together at No Kings Twin Cities. We packed the Capitol Mall all the way to the Cathedral. Estimate 80,000+ right now. So proud of our state. #nokings #indivisible
