Things a friend remembers from The Dismissal:
His parents had such big fight over it that they got divorced (seriously!). I often wondered how many couples broke up over that moment in Australian politics.

3. Hearing lots of adults saying re Whitlam "Well he must've done something or this wouldn't have happened" without them actually knowing or understanding any of the stated reasons why their elected leader had been removed by the Queen's representative.

2. I taped Malcolm Fraser's policy speech for the folks who were out (kid radio journalist in the making) and Malcolm Fraser stated clearly "we will maintain Medibank". He later got in and privatized the public health system retaining the name "Medibank".
