If you ask me a question like how is your day going and I don’t return the question back to you, it’s not because I don’t care, it’s because I was too busy internally fussing over whether I provided a satisfactory response to remember to turn it back to you.

I guess I consider the act of calling something art to be a form of curation, and curation itself to be a form of art.

The only things I would say the word “art” does not apply are things no one has ever bothered to consider the artistic merits of (whether that’s the creator or someone else.)

I think some things are only made with the intention of function in mind, but I think that even those things that weren’t made to be art can be called art if someone sees enough artistic merit there to dub it as such.

I guess I should also acknowledge that some things are ONLY art. Like a painting made for a gallery isn’t necessarily intended to serve any function outside of being art.

But a wooden chair you have a choice to evaluate it just as furniture, or as both furniture and art.

I might say Ratatouille’s “anyone can cook” is the better comparison. Anything can be art, but that doesn’t mean anything is good art. And if it’s not good art, then it might not be worth calling it art. But whether something is good or worth calling art is up for debate.

Other game creators might not view their game as anything more than a toy, but that’s not to say that you can’t still choose to evaluate their toy as art, and examine its merits using that metric.

Anything can be considered art if there is value in doing so.

I think the word art can be applied to anything, it just means we’re applying a different rubric to evaluate it. Then the question becomes “is there value in evaluating this thing as art.”

Some games are created with the intention that they will be viewed as art, so those ones definitely should be.

Yeah the story seems more intriguing so far than anything Age of Calamity offered.

But at least we’ve had women on our money for reasons other than who they’ve married.

Oh so he does. Not in the movie, but in the Big Hero 6 show. I didn’t get too far into that series as I was annoyed at the execution of the visual style.

And I didn’t even think they had the rights to Luigi.
