LibDem because I believe in equal opportunity for all regardless of just about everything. Like Rugby, Food, Cycling, my kids and grandchildren. I also trust science because science is always open to change if facts prove otherwise. Rejoin EU. PR.

First Brexit and now Reform it appears that about 30% of our population want to commit suicide and take everyone with them.
We must stop them. Here’s a start.

The LibDems have a basic philosophy of equality for all and pragmatic policies to achieve that. They can heal the divisions in our country and bring stability with prosperity in a green and clean environment
Exactly what this country needs now.
Or we can rage on the extremes and destroy all.
Nah. Keep him. Maybe more MPs will decamp for Your Party, or at least the Greens. Of course, they could go to Reform, and that would suck. Nobody will go to the LibDems who are moribund.
Starmer allies issue warning to PM’s rivals as fears grow over leadership challenge
No 10 said to be in ‘full bunker mode’ over fears of attempt to oust him after budget or May local elections

If we stand by and do nothing, history will brand us the weakest generation in British history—the ones who let extremism triumph. We cannot, we must not, let that happen.

The BBC isn't perfect. But it remains an institution defending British values against a populist, Trump-style takeover.

Party leaders must unite to defend it.

This is a clever letter from the Lib Dems, challenging other party leaders to say whether they support the BBC or Trump. For the Tories in particular there is a real risk their inherent anti BBC-ness makes them look like they endorse Trump’s fairly deranged comments about the BBC.
I’ve written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage urging them to condemn Donald Trump’s attack on the BBC.

The BBC belongs to Britain, not Trump. We must defend it together.
Panorama Documentary loaded the gun and handed it to the right wing.
I hope Starmer takes the opportunity to restore the BBC”s credibility with genuinely unbiased management seeking truth above anything else.
This will be the last chance.
@eddavey.libdems.org.uk speaking sense over BBC 'there are people on the right of British politics who are following Trump's America + don't believe in a free, independent press...+ strong BBC... we are deeply worried that we're seeing right wing populism damaging our institutions like the BBC'

God he's such a clown. Cannot stand him, he has such an adversarial, depressing vibe about him like Badenoch. Honestly he may even be a narcissist that's how much he makes me uncomfortable.

I respect and Ed Davey because he is prepared to work with others. It is so much more productive.
Listening to what Zack says. I suggest you do the same. Add working in energy conservation for 40yrs helps a bit. I had solar thermal on my roof in 1977.

I don't disagree with their policies, as such. I'm a Lib Dem. We were a green party before Zack was a glint in the gardener's eye. He was even a Lib Dem once.

My objection is the appeal to populism without pragmatism which has been (and probably always will be) the favoured policy of all zealots.
Leaving NATO and getting rid of our nuclear deterrent. I am against that.
I want to get to net zero and a pollution free world ASAP but I believe the way Zack intends to do that will bring about the opposite.
That’s exactly what a cult member would say.
I have reached an age where I have tendency to question, even those things I like to hear.
I define a cult of personality, as a person who can say anything and be believed, how ever outrageous the lie, they don’t even question.
Trump and the MAGAS a good recent example. Putin,Hitler from the past.
Every tin pot dictator - and I see others building cults now, Farage.
Perhaps you remember this.

The Liberal Democrats were the only major UK political party to officially oppose the 2003 Iraq War. Their then-leader, Charles Kennedy, was a prominent speaker at the massive anti-war rally in Hyde Park, London, on February 15,
2003.

LibDems Party is not one man.
I'd actually be more likely to vote for Nick Clegg than Ed Davey. I don't remember any of the Lib Dems' policies from the last election, but I do remember every time I scrolled down my news feed seeing images of Davey paragliding or windsurfing or whatever, with an inane grin on his face.

Suggest you look at election results instead of polls. The only party stopping Reform at the ballot box is the LibDems.
To me, a populist is a politician who says whatever it takes to get elected, who builds a cult of personality rather than a foundation of ideas. Zac Polanski fits that description. I am not a Starmer supporter.
A populist like Zac says what people want to hear rather than develop sound policy. He opposite side of the same coin that Farage uses. A bit of research shows that he wants to leave NATO get rid of our nuclear deterrent and destroy the economy trying to reach net zero too fast causing the opposite.
Greens are cranks. From top to bottom. Every policy area. They should be regarded as being no different from Reform in the threat they represent.
Polanski in negotiating with murderous dictator Putin

"It would be sociopathic behaviour to say you wouldn't negotiate with a president or a prime minister."

Polanski on working with Starmer

"Keir Starmer is not a man I would be willing to work with"
If they looked at our policies more would vote for us but it’s the cult of personality and sound bites that wins.
Sad but true.
The coalition prevented 3billion in cuts saving real people from pain, others grandstanding expecting them to sacrifice their lives on the altar of 19th century philosophy.
TB introduced tuition fees GB wanted to raise them. Don’t mention TB’s Iraqi War.
LibDems put People before Party.

Nigel Farage used to believe in reforming the voting system, now he's rowed back because it no longer benefits him.

We will keep fighting for a fair votes, not because it benefits us but because it's right for the country.
Ed Davey has done more to attack Farage than other party leader. He has done this in Parliament and in the media. This call for PR is to prevent Farage getting power.

Keir Starmer needs to wake up and fix our broken voting system before the next election, or he risks letting Nigel Farage into Number 10.

We will keep fighting for fair votes to make sure every voice is heard.
