As @beinghumanfest.bsky.social gets underway, I'm deep in storytelling thoughts about lovers and traders; displacement and transformation; grit, pearls, and stories.

Massive thanks to everyone who took part in today's first ever Dusking gathering for storytellers.

It was such a joy to hear you raising your voices, sharing a weird, wise old tale, as the shadows deepened around us - and as the Liverpool sky put on a wondrous show!

As Halloween creeps closer, I'm chuffed to have been invited to share spooky tales with the young folk of the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.

Online, laid-back, and free to people aged 18–30 who live, work, or study in Coventry, Warwickshire, Solihull, or nearby.

Got a new pair of specs, got my paper (very nearly) drafted, and I'm off to Brighton in the morning to deliver a keynote - combining live storytelling and ecopoetic reflection - at this fantastic symposium: www.techne.ac.uk/training-and...

Focusing on plans for this fantastic upcoming symposium: www.techne.ac.uk/training-and...

In my keynote, I'll be combining live storytelling and ecopoetic reflection to explore how sharing un-pastoral tales drawn from mythic Britain might help us dream together towards liveable, shared futures.

Am completely wiped out, clutching multiple scraps of paper, and very pleased with life after an excellent day of collaborative research with the wonderful folk at the Village Storytelling Centre, documenting the growth of Glasgow's contemporary storytelling scene.

Yay! (Falls over. Message ends.)

A fantastic few days of storytelling and storytelling-adjacent goodness in sunny Edinburgh this week.

It was grand to catch up with a host of excellent folk, and loads of deft/bold/heartfelt/daft new work.

A bit over five years since a pandemic stopped me getting to Edinburgh to see Wind Resistance, I did manage to catch Karine Polwart's soulful, elegaic Windblown this evening.

Lads, I sobbed.

What a beautiful evening, leading a workshop on storytelling and presence with my Romanian friends (old and new)!

Even when we meet online, it's so wonderful to witness faces glowing, and voices being raised in generosity, creativity, and joy.

Mulțumesc tuturor!

Time to be back on the road with Queens of Albion, this time visiting the brilliant Guesthouse Storytellers down on the south coast.

They were the first to set foot on the island. So how come we’ve forgotten the story of our first, fiercest mythic mothers?

Check out this amazing detail of mistletoe berries, newly discovered on fragments of a Roman fresco in south London.

Just gorgeous. And so evocative of a place where different cultures were meeting and interacting ...

In a happy place this afternoon: sitting on the floor surrounded by bits of paper, starting to sketch how storytelling can energise inclusive cultural scenes and arts ecosystems in the contemporary city.
