The problem with Black Economic Empowerment in South Africa is that it has not done enough to reverse the legacy of apartheid. Much research shows that, including mine. Do not buy the lies Trump told at his pantomime. This is why research, universities and academic freedom are important.

Electric cars are ‘a’ (not ‘the’) solution to a transport revolution, but mainly for low density rural areas. The base needs to be public transport and cycling infrastructure, shared cars as a top-up. Stating the obvious to many of you but far from enough.

We are failing our PhDs if as advisors do not share our experiences with failures in publishing as well - and the small nitty gritty things that can make a difference. Amazing how many PhDs were unaware of these at the PhD course we are teaching at CBS
