according to Adso's notes these fucked up looking dudes have been the royal's family elite protectors for generations and, unless this armor of theirs is the current baddie's own design, no surprise Aran used to be terrified of the palace as a child.

i thought that petrified warriors would be like, a very rare elite mini-boss, but you can't walk 5 steps without bumping into a bunch of those :I
(putting 2 of them on another mini-boss' tiny arena was really evil tho)

i have a love/hate relationship w/ blades' level design bc almost every area is a multi-layered maze with tons of hidden paths (which i love) & the map is barely - if any - help (annoying), but also every bit of the world is such an eye candy that i'm not even mad about getting lost.

i thought that, plot-related divine forge pocket dimension aside, Aran's magic hammer teleportation was like a usual videogamey bandaid for fast travel + ability to dismiss/summon Adso quickly, but Adso actually reacts to suddenly being teleported from the camp lol
