Gamer, writer, dad. He/Him. So tired...

Fan of pro wrestling (AEW), Comics, Toys, TTRPGs, Video Games, Movies, etc. etc. Surprise me!
Nothing "straight" about that priority! 😆

Archie Bunker and "All In The Family" was funny, because Bunker was a parody (and even then had the heart to stand against the likes of KKK members). This was like that but played straight. Like we were supposed to agree with their Bunker-clone and think he was right (and their version had no heart)

The same billionaire that helped Cezar Bononi get his wife life saving treatment and didn't seek public glorification while doing so? That billionaire?

It wasn't even really a thing until the late 80's/early 90's in the WWF, they might change a wrestlers gimmick ("Adorable" Adrian Adonis) but rarely their ring name. The only ones that really come to mind are Bossman (Big Bubba in WCW), Akeem (OMG), and Red Rooster (Terry Taylor).

(Paul Wight only had two ring names during his active in-ring career: The Giant and Big Show). Even the guy in your gif, Rowdy Roddy Piper, had that name before his WWF run, Vince pushed the "Hot Rod" moniker because he owned the copyright to it. Which is why the WWE changes ring names: to own them.

Ultimate Warrior was Dingo Warrior in WCCW, Big John Studd got the name in Mid-Atlantic, Steve Austin was Steve Austin in WCW. I'll give you Undertaker, Triple H, Hall, Nash, & Wight, but only Hall & Nash had recognizable names pre-WWF run and gained their most popularity under their previous.

Yeah, it's packed with both hints and a bit of world building stuff (like a story about the Biology lab's octopus being stolen, which may be a hint to the origin of Green & Purple Tentacle). IIRC, Edna's column also mentions hiding keys under door mats and on chandeliers and painting over doors.

Tentacle tape (that you use to get the Rusty Key off the chandelier) for a funny cutscene.

make Green Tentacle help you get past Purple Tentacle in the lab, or you have have Wendy edit the manuscript for a book contract for the Meteor that leads to one of the endings. You can also have Sid/Razor record their own music for a contract (just don't show it to GT!) or send him the

If you watch the TV in the Music Room, you'll see a cutscene/ad for "Mark A. Teer and the Guys Who Will Publish Anything", you get the stamps from Weird Ed's package and an envelop from Nurse Edna's safe, and can mail Mark stuff. You can send him Green Tentacle's demo tape for a contract that will

It's mentioned on one of the community board posters that came with one of the versions of the game (can't recall if it was on the NES version) in a newspaper clipping of Edna's advice column.

The show is "in name only", follows the Edisons (was the origin of the surname, made canon in DoTT) as they deal with the fallout of Fred's experiments with the meteor. No Dave & co. or Tentacles, more a family comedy. Stars some of Second City alumni; Joe Flaherty (Count Floyd) as Dr. Fred.
November 13, 2025 at 11:13 PM
It's pretty close: You have Sid, David, Bernard, Razor, & Jeff (5 of the 7 available playable characters, the missing being Michael and Windy), the eponymous mansion in the background, the Meteor crashing down (happens in the opening cutscene), and presumably Dr. Fred looming (this is off design).

AEW has ran longer than SMW, despite SMW having it's own billionaire backer and WWE support. Cornette also let Tim Horner swindle him out of money for YEARS as a promoter. Why would we care what that dude thinks?

They're going to need another guy, so a surprise or their team will be short.

Beefy Bodyguard looks at Ben, looks back at Killian "I'm gonna score some 'roids!" Gives Ben a nod and walks off. It was nice to see the guy subvert expectations by not defending Killian, even if they Chechov's Gun'd it a bit earlier by showing how mean Killian is to his staff (like the mop guy).
