Retired, birder, seeking peace of mind
He did! He just sent his list (attached). What a great day at Montrose, with a barred owl and a shrike. I don't think I've ever seen either there. Wish I'd been there. Oh well.

To me, this is exemplary reporting. No jumping to conclusions, no theories, nothing sensational. Thanks, BBC News.

I went to a performance venue that was new to me last night (Studio 5 in Evanston) to hear the Alyssa Allgood Quintet. It was a great jazz show and a great space. Check it out sometime. #Studio5 #Jazz #Chicagomusic #Music www.studio5.dance/about-us

Daisy's tired after a long day at the #NoKings protest. Now it's time to enjoy the rest of #Caturday.

Excited to report I saw a nonbreeding female snow bunting at Montrose today. It was drinking water at the original water feature. I could not have been more surprised to see it! #birding #birds #Chicagobirding #MontrosePoint (not my photo, just used for illustrative purposes)

What a shock! So sad to hear of the death of Diane Keaton today, on her 79th birthday. One of the greats with an enviable body of work and the best smile ever. RIP.

They are playing you. Don't listen to the faux ex-Gops like Joe Walsh who talk about grabbing a "musket" to defend the country. That's just what this regime wants. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/07/o...

I saw a brown creeper (immature, I think) on the ground at State and Hubbard in Chicago yesterday afternoon trying to find a foothold on a metal barrier. After a bit, it flew to a light pole and hung on for a bit, then flew off. I hope it found a tree. (Not my photo.) #birds #Chicagobirding #birding

At the Hyde Park Jazz Festival today - the Chicago Asian American Ensemble pictured here. Also heard the wonderful teens of the Kenwood Academy Jazz Band.

Migration still going strong, esp. in southern U.S. Amazing numbers of birds on the move. Enjoy! #birding

ATTENTION: Those living on the Mississippi Flyway (that's you, Chicagoans). Protect migrating birds.

Perfect answer. I will never forget or stop missing my dear Meggie (left), but loving Daisy (right) is what helps keep her alive for me.

This looks worthwhile, especially for people with tattoos. (BTW, saw a large exhibition of Tony Fitzpatrick's bird art at the MAC a while back. It was brilliant.) #TonyFitzpatrick #Tattoos

Not a big birding spot, Harms Woods yielded some nice finds, even at midday. In 45 minutes, I saw/heard 10 species, most of them warblers. #birding #Chicagobirding #birds #warblers #HarmsWoods
