Today I took the train to the end of the line ...
A pylon viewed through raindrops on a train window. The drops of water are in focus but the pylon is thrown out of focus although its distinctive shape remains recognisable. The photograph was taken at Barking Riverside, a new development on the Thames just beyond Barking on the East London/Essex borders. The pylon is evidence of the land's former use - as a power station. Barking Riverside is at the end of the Suffragette Line on the London Overground.

On Sunday cycling in the Fens around Ely, Cambridgeshire. Despite being in the populous southeast of England it seems a strangely empty area. On my cycle ride I noticed evidence of the long gone population - abandoned cottages ...

The Hill House, Helensburgh near Glasgow. The house was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh for the publisher in 1904. Includes classic Rennie Mackintosh features and, at the moment, an opportunity to view it from above!

Good morning. More signs of spring - a solitary blossom on a cherry tree near St Paul's cathedral.

Good morning all! For #blueskymonday, a little bit of blue over Brighton Pier, made a year ago on a cold day but with a promise of sunnier days.
