So, my favorite beach spot to swim and write is on my dad’s lunch in motorcycle route. There’s something so funny about him and his bestie pulling up and hollering.
Bestie: Aren’t you working today?
Dad: This is her office.

One of the things I’ve missed most since surgery is my morning exercise swim. 3 or 4 times a week, I’d get down to the beach by 7 or 8, swim a half mile, and be showered and ready for a 10am meeting. This is the first day I’ve been able to- saw 3 crabs and many little jellies and I feel at peace

Really needed to get away and relax for a bit. We had a marvelous time in Provincetown and I cannot get Vampire Weekend’s Wallcott out of my head. Feeling refreshed and ready to write again!!

It smells like rain. A fog’s rolling in off the ocean but it hasn’t started to climb the hill yet, so if I look down the world is enveloped in mist. The lilac bush under my window is just starting to bloom, and I can smell the flowers when I lay in bed.
