It's the part about the relevant Senators being mad their travel plans would be blocked that's what's being said (someone posted a image that showed which airports had the most issues and they seemed to be the same places those Senators were - but that's likely the conspiracy theory...

Yes this thread is as ridiculous as my longstanding annoyance with fandom. I KNOW why people write these sorts of fanfics - to work out their own feelings about what happen. But still... I'm always going to blame the show writers first for whatever they do badly (& there are some serious fuckups).

I'm not saying other people can't or shouldn't do whatever they want but I'm just not going to participate in it or go along with it. You want to write a fanfic where character a screams at character b for not understanding his pain go ahead whatever. that's fine. I just don't believe it matters.

The "it's just a tv show/movie" also applies when people react strongly to how the characters are being treated - they're not real they're not getting their feeling hurt because the other characters aren't attentive to all their needs. Of course show writers are going to skip the emotional aftermath

The issue is apprently people are trying to figure out having a new James Bond when he was blown up in the last movie - I don't know why they didn't just say it was a different guy using the same identity for each new actor. There problem solved.
