My legs feel a little lead-like today after a “moderate” hike - to my very first flipping #glacier! It felt great & the rocks in #KananaskisCountry are simply WOW! Only two puffs up the Rawson Lake Trail, hiking poles, ‘tired pony trudge’ on the many steep bits, bug spray & the rest was alright.
My somewhat exhausted and happy face is at the bottom left of the image. I have a damp towel with glacier cold water around my neck and sunglasses on. Behind me an alpine meadow leading to the bottom of a small glacier taking up part of the bottom half of a mountain’s rockface. We are in southern Alberta, having parked at Upper Kananaskis Lake and hiked the Rawson Lake Trail on a Goldilocks day of not-too-warm, not-too-sunny day in early July. Took two hours (and hiking poles) for my unfit lungs to get up here.

A black & white cat, perched precariously on the edge of an IKEA Poang footstool, cleaning himself on a sunny Vancouver afternoon. Back and butt are in the foreground, and the very cute and very furry butt is about half an inch over the footstool’s edge. He didn’t fall off, this time.

Bedtime delayed due to being trapped by a sleeping precious. The other precious is enjoying his Poang too much to try and squish some space on the household hammock (moi, I am hammock). Such is the life of a #CatMom. 😻 I am very much going to need that lie-in in the morning. #AdoptDontShop #VOKRA
A black & white cat on a cuddly charcoal grey blanket on the outstretched legs of one of his humans. Blanket is stretched under each of the photographer’s legs to put some tension and support to the space between the shins where the precious cat is sleeping. Left shin is the pillow and the cat is curled up and snoozing on the blanket, his hind legs pretty much against my feet. There is no snoring; Mikey-moo does not snore.

Two young cats crowd around the faucet of a sink in a small bathroom. The faucet (not fully in picture) is running slightly more than a trickle of cold water that the cats enjoy taking turns drinking from. One is a black & white domestic shorthair, the other a brown & white tabby. They are both super fluffy and don’t even mind getting their paws wet, much. The black & white one will first test the water temperature with his paw, splashing himself (and me a bit). No complaints.

The ‘kids’ are coming home for the first time! I can’t wait for Toby and Mike to see and move into their new and furever home!!

Three different kinds of rock I found in Grotto Canyon. Actual type of rock unknown. There is also an almost petrified piece of wood. Type also unknown, but it’s very smooth!

A #KitchenFail that isn’t: our soup of the day is billed as Fennel & Corn Chowder”. In actuality, the two most dominant flavours are butter and onion. Or might that be called #FailingUpward, culinarily speaking.
A creamy looking soup in a soup bowl. Visible are its buttery sheen, the red chili flakes I added, with bits of corn, celery, and onion on top. A silverplated spoon is in the soup, towards the right side of the frame, its plain handle extends past the edge of the rim of the bowl.

On a kitchen corner, a man is tearing a piece of rotisserie chicken into smaller pieces and putting them in his cat’s saucer. But not fast enough for the tabby cat, who is inches away and extending his very white left forepaw towards the saucer. The rotisserie chicken, already missing a few limbs, is in the foreground.
