At the start of the Solar War, the 12th, 16th, 23rd Infantry Divisions stationed on the moon, and the 15th Infantry Brigade (later Division) deployed to Mars, were the US Army's space-trained ground combat units, and thus their SSIs were fitted with the "SPACE" tab.

12th Infantry Division was one of US Army's three divisions stationed on the moon at the start of the Solar War. Part of the Fourth Army alongside the 23rd Infantry Division, it was HQ'ed in Orion City, in the southern part of the American Tranquility Territory.

The tank RCT was developed for the newly organized 1st Marine Tank Division for the Invasion of Titan. Built around a tank regiment pulled from the divisions remaining on Callisto, the attached infantry btln saw its 4th company split between the other three, bringing each company to four platoons

In preparation for the Allied invasion of Callisto, the units of the participating Marine divisions were organized under a standardized RCT template. Based off an organic infantry regiments, it was reinforced with an extra infantry btln, and a tank btln from one of the newly expanded tank regiments

The 1st Marine Air Assault Brigade was among the last Marine units raised during the Solar War. Made specifically for the Invasion of Titan, it was meant to take advantage of the thick atmosphere to allow greater mobility, hoping the avoid the long treks that defined the Jovian Moons Campaigns
