St George’s Church, Donnington, West Sussex.
.. a Saxon church set in fields surrounded by farmland. A church has been here since before AD966, the current Grade I listed building dates from the 13th century. Its wonderful rural location is a home for bats, swifts, and barn owls. Perfect. #photo

The colour of autumn. Why do the leaves turn gold in autumn? It’s the breakdown of chlorophyll, the pigment that gives leaves their green colour. As the days get shorter and cooler, the trees stop producing chlorophyll. This causes the leaves to lose their green hue and turn golden brown.
