Coming soon : Peregrine Watch in the square.
Chick alert 😊
The first chick has hatched!
At around 01.22 (00.22 webcam clock) the falcon moves to reveal the egg and chick which she then rather clumsily appears to almost tread on, freeing it from the shell. A loud cheeping can be heard soon afterwards and further limited views a little later.

Egg #3 has arrived. Unbelievably, the falcon has laid at almost the same interval as between the first and second egg. 54 hours and 26 minutes. 🥚1>2 was 54hrs 24) There looked to be a glimpse of the egg at 21.36 as she laid it and a slightly better glimpse a few minutes later.

The Stamford falcon laid her second egg this afternoon, just over 54 hours after the first egg.

The tiercel had his first look at the egg. He tried a bit of bribery to get to take a turn to incubate. That didn't work!

The tiercel must think that the first egg is imminent. Just after 7am he brought the falcon breakfast in the scrape and then checked out the nest cup to see if incubation duties were required.

Chitter chatter from the tiercel this morning, looking for the falcon. Both visited the scrape and well.. scraped.. and scraped, then scraped some more. Video at increased speed.
Our webcam is available to view inside the church, and the links on YouTube and the web page will be reinstated soon.

The tiercel visited the scrape several times today, calling for the falcon. She kept him waiting until late this afternoon.

Recently the falcon has been scraping vigorously in both scrape turrets, although she currently seems to favour the scrape last used in 2023. The tiercel has joined her regularly for chatter and display. If successful this will be their 5th year of breeding together.
