Coming soon : Peregrine Watch in the square.
Awww. I think that we have been very fortunate to date. Fingers crossed for successful fledges this year.

We have (so far) been really lucky that none have yet to be grounded, and we think that it's probably partly due to the design of the tower and spire. Each year, they have moved between turrets before taking a final leap of faith across the square (often flying to St Johns' church about 40m away)

Ours will do a similar thing and eventually scuttle out of the recess and onto a ledge that bridges the parapet across to the spire. From they, they hop-flap up onto the top of the turret and spend most of their time up there, before (usually) fledging between the turrets in a short first flight.

Our first two hatched on May 2nd, so they are nearly a week behind the first Sheffield hatch on 27th April. It's amazing how quickly they lose that down, though, isn't it. I love the juvenile stage before they fledge, the warm colouration & comical behaviour, especially that peregrine scuttle. 😍

Life is back to normal for them this afternoon after a good sleep and a big feed.

This week, we are holding two peregrine watches on Friday 30th and Saturday, the 31st May. If you are in the area, please do drop by and say hello.
