..due to the extensive white in the crown & strong chestnut colouring in the field, which doesn't come across well in the digishots. Maybe a poorly marked 1st year male? Aside from the bunting, a female Brambling & flyover Go Plover were the only other birds of note (2/n) @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social

This suggests that it has been a strong breeding year for dormice in Dorset. Our warm summer may have encouraged second broods or early breeding from this year's young.
