It never does and never will. I certainly don't have the strength to get another pet any time soon and know that I'll have to deal with that all over again.

You can never be ready for it, even though we know it is a harsh reality of pet ownership, it can break even the stoutest of hearts. I'm sorry you've had to go through this, I had to say goodbye to my cat last year, absolutely broke me.
