With 2026 MC Vegas being in early May, Las Vegas is still relatively cool. I know people will be there for the convention and to play Magic, but if you come a bit early or stay a bit late and want to see Vegas outside the strip, lemme know! I'm happy to take ya on a hike :3

This week is homecoming at @unlv.edu , and today is the office decorating contest! Our office went with the theme "gothic literature," so I dressed up as Edgar Allan Poe!

Two common traps GMs fall into is describing too much or not describing enough. As the GM, you direct the PCs and players where to look. Describing too much or too little slows the pace to a standstill because they won't know what to engage with.

Decide and describe what matters
Show us what you want us to see Directing is about telling people where to look. When you're planning your shoot and, later, when shooting scenes, keep in mind what you want the audience to see. Or, what they will want to see. If a private investigator slides a folder across his client’s desk, plan carefully what you want your audience to see. Do you want a shot of the client reading the dossier and reacting? Do you only want a close-up of the page? Do you want to check in with the private investigator? Choose the option that best serves your story and your audience. Will the viewer yearn to see a character's face or the insert? If you know you'll never use the insert, don't waste time shooting it. When you get to the editing room, the editor will need the material to tell the story the way you want to tell it. If you didn't get it on set, you won’t be able to make your audience see what you want them to see. Think ahead and shoot accordingly.
