And I’m a plant hospice worker. 🫤
Snuggled in their beds with visions of mentorships dancing in their heads.
Illustrators pencils were clicking and clacking while writers keyboards were ticking and tacking. But on May 15, the wait wound be over and mentees would announce, “Dr Seuss, Move over!”

Love the merging of picture and story!

Thank you. I make a quilt to go with each story. Gives me time to mill things over and process new ideas. Quilts that tell a story. 😊

I’m working on a quilt to go with my Annie Ant story. At least she made it to the land of baskets and juicy melons. 😉 Creativity w/o words. 😊

Trying to find an agent, editor and a great critique group where I can learn and grow. I don’t have the eyes to see what others can.

Progress, not perfection thus punitive self punishment. Have pride in the form but not one self. Be humble. Have faith, trust. There are many willing to lend a helpful hand helping find resources. This genre is full of pleasant people, very few unprincipled persons.

And how to use alliteration…😂

Two days away and I’m still living and smiling and realizing, no matter outcome, I’ll be happy for others and I will survive. 😅 #lifeisgood

When I need to celebrate (give myself positive vibes😉), I’ll find something I can look at as a win and go get a dirty Coke Zero, tell someone what I’ve done and go home, crank up some happy music, dance, scrub or quilt. Or a virgin pina colada with a mini umbrella…😋

I keep notes on ideas and write them all up. The strong ones I move forward and weaker ones may never turn into anything BUT either way, it keeps my brain well oiled and my fingers working. Each one is an exercise in faith and better skill.

Lollipop looked out from her big green egg, “Ohhh, to stretch my neck and crumpled up legs!” From my manuscript LOLLIPOP FINDS HER FAMILY

I’m still learning. It takes a “write” mindset to know when they’re necessary or can be done with dialogue. Using a story builder template helps me. I can visualize as well as separate dialogue. Artists know their stuff so I like to keep them minimal. Then it becomes the best of both worlds!

Free writes are good. I also will go organize a room and let it be me, bins and stuff. I organize the stuff into bins and then put them away in specialized places. For some reason the organizing helps clear my home and my mind. I keep going until there is a story or labels on every drawer. 😅

This is a first for me in #PBParty but in all the other stuff I’ve done, it depends on the manuscript. There are some I just have a feeling on while others just don’t capture the magic. Then I need eyes and help. Once I clear out the gunk in my head, I can write with a better voice.
