Sitting at OTB in the South Side and just watched two of the loudest, drunkest dudes become BFFs in real time.

Warms my cold, dark heart.

The actual secret to why I know stuff is that I ask a question any time I don’t understand literally anything. I don’t care how simple it is. Anybody who makes fun of you for asking a simple question likely doesn’t know the answer either

Business are willing to accept broken code if it means they don't have to pay humans anymore
#AmWorking

Big businesses: "We do n% of our code with AI now"

Me: BUT IT DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE! YOU BROKE IT! YOU COMPLETELY RUINED IT!

Had this TWICE today with two different kinds of big business software product and I am ready to throw things.

What’s so special about Mad Mex’s Gobblerito? It’s hard to explain. Each ingredient is just ok on its own, but together, it’s a kaleidoscope of delicious magnificence...

This all would be easier if we agreed, canonically, that THE ROCK is a James Bond film.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

This reads less like management policy and more a like tips and tricks piece for serial killers trying to pass as normal.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

I know this isn't the point of Paul's post, but I hope some people learn that quote dunking and dogpiling on people is a terrible habit.

Treat people the way you want to be treated instead of chasing rage-based dopamine. This is grade-two-level kindness, and it's not that difficult.

So Pittsburghers pronounce Carnegie the correct way, for obvious reasons. Andrew pronounced it that way bc he was Scottish. I was delighted recently to hear native Scot Ian Anderson say the name of the famous hall in New York that way when talking about a famous 1970 concert he played there.
Carnegie

[and typical French ones]
What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?

I don't believe anyone in Erie or WNY would consider themselves Midwestern. I do love that the map has numbered regions so I don't have to spend time deciphering similar colors to the legend.
This is the most accurate depiction of the Midwest to date. Wichita has always felt like the last Midwest city while also being the first plains city.
