A mockup. I mean, sure, this could use a little landscaping; cities can work out the details in accordance with their design guidelines. But a 6m wide sign in the roadway could be a highly effective design element for reducing vehicle speeds.

I’ve seen lots of people making fun of Ford’s plan for bigger speed limit signs. Why so negative? With the right scale and placement I really think it could work. #onpoli

Nov 28: Enough backyard raspberries for my bowl of cereal (though this is probably it for this year). One of many reasons I love living here. 🌱 #yyj

Took the kid to see Sigur Ros in Vancouver tonight (wow, yowza, amazing). Said kid was polite enough about the concert, but then truly impressed when I took them to McDonald’s after & introduced them to the concept of swamp water.

(The other reason is The X Files.)

Raspberries are still going in October—today’s harvest is about 1.5 pounds that I’ll make into a quick jam.

Wash the berries to get (most of) the bugs out, toss in a saucepan, cook on medium-low until berries release some liquid, add a slug of sugar, bring to a boil for a few minutes. That’s it.

James Bay has great access to downtown and some of Victoria’s best natural amenities (Dallas Waterfront, Beacon Hill Park). Seems like a great place for more people to live.
