Retired Ethics advisor. Proud Canadian who believes in democracy and rule of law. I believe most people are inherently good and will rise above and do what is right. I believe we all need to care for those less fortunate and help those in need.

Please know that I, along with many Canadians, am horrified by what’s been happening. I can’t wait till I can go south of the border again, will miss wintering south. We will be spending a month in europe in the spring instead.

You keep believing what they tell you about how universal healthcare is bad, after all USA is the only westernized country in the entire world without it. Guess the whole world is wrong and t the USA is right.

You keep your healthcare and I’ll keep mine.

The article you sent me states that wait times have increased by 1-5 and 9-15 days for some cancer treatments from 2019 to 2024
October 2, 2025 at 6:02 PM
Did you read what you sent me? This is the hill you want to die on???
October 2, 2025 at 5:56 PM
All Canadians gets the care they need irrespective of economic status. We don’t die because we cannot afford care. We care more than just ourselves and sometimes that means putting someone else first and I’m ok with that. If I cannot get non urgent care before someone gets urgent care I’m good

If you read properly it did not say 30 weeks edit for a doctors apppointmrnt. It was up to 30 weeks for all segments. Appmt with gp, then appmt with specialist then rendered to treatment. And it’s worse case scenario. If you read it all done we’re pretty good stats.

What doctor or treatment did you wait 6 months for in Canada? I am 65, live in a major city and never have waited like that. For non acute care there can be a delay but it’s a small price to pay for u overall healthcare. I will gladly wait when it’s non acute.
October 2, 2025 at 4:09 PM
Agreed. What good is next a day doctor appointment if the bill will render you homeless?
October 2, 2025 at 4:05 PM
I have never waited 6 months to see any doctor, not even close. I was diagnose with cancer and within 3 weeks, had all my test, scans, and staging done and started treatment, 3 weeks. I had 1 surgery, 6 rounds of chemo, 35 rounds of radiation and all it cost was the price of parking.

I’m so sorry. I am so tired of yelling at my tv, I thank god for our PM Mark Carney.

Republicans need to fear what your country will become more than his wrath.
September 26, 2025 at 12:34 AM
I’m a Canadian who is petrified for my family south of the border. I keep seeing “we will get control in the midterms”, “we will vote him out in 2028”, I fear that neither opportunity wil present itself to you.
September 26, 2025 at 12:33 AM
I’m worried that there will not be the opportunity to right this ship.
