I’m not joking—the GOP subsidy plan is literally vouchers.

Cassidy carried the school voucher bill in the Senate too.

Same “empower” marketing.

Same basic weakness: lack of direct investment means the voucher approach leaves at-risk, costliest “consumers” in the public pool.

Trump says Republicans did poorly last night because he wasn't on the ballot and the shutdown. I agree. He glitters on the ballot but when he has to govern, he's a disaster. And people are on the Dem's side in the shutdown. Food for poor kids wins over tax breaks for billionaires.

Reporters, could you fact-check this. Are we, the taxpayers, on the hook, and for how much, to pay for Trump's Great Gatsby party for his rich friends while poor folks are losing their food benefits? Because if that's true, I think the this should be the lede for the next few days.
