If you’re in the western suburbs of Minneapolis, Base Camp Coffee and Unmapped Brewing in Minnetonka are giving people a free beverage if they bring in a bag of non-perishable groceries to donate to ICA Food Shelf. They’re doing this through the month of November.

Community members, you can do this too, even without a kid in MPS! Tell them we all do better when we all do better! It's in EVERYONE'S best interest to give city kids a great education!
If you are a parent of a kid in Minneapolis public schools, please, please, PLEASE take 2 minutes to email the school board (SchoolBoard@mpls.k12.mn.us) and superintendent (mpssup@mpls.k12.mn.us) to tell them to settle with the educators' union and give them what they want. Your emails truly help!

People are taking down their Jacob Frey yard signs *as we speak.* (For real! Heard firsthand from a Senior Caucus comrade yesterday about one such household! 😅.) Don’t let up in sharing why you’re supporting the Slate for Change—it’s @dewayneforminneapolis.com + Omar + Jazz for me—we can do this❣️

But Graham is right that Tuesday's election is vital. While I give Frey credit for not derailing the city's transportation consensus, he is running with a slate who are absolutely hostile to it. None of this is guaranteed. So many people have fought & scrapped for a decade to make it happen. Vote.

I am dying laughing as one kid, who took a little longer to pick bc he didn’t want candy (braces), saw the Declaration of Independence and then had to run to catch up w/ his friends, unsuccessfully yelling over their howls and hoots “Guys - guys, guys - GUYS! I GOT A DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE!!!”

i am sorry but you are just going to have to either learn not to despair or learn to get things done while despairing, this is still the one place in the universe where we are sure there is life and it needs you more than you need to read another headline that drains 110% of your energy

The greatest difference we could make to our future generations is not…any of the shit we hear people saying about tech.

It is learning how to care for each other enough to create and hold a real, lasting peace.

Early voting is open in MN and it’s time to prep with @naomikritzer.bsky.social! Why not start with Board of Estimates and Taxation whose endorsements are also fucked this year naomikritzer.com/2025/09/09/e...
Elections 2025: Minneapolis Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET)
Do not skip this one! You need to vote, and you need to tell your friends to vote, and you need to tell them how to vote. The tl;dr is that you should vote 1. Eric Harris Bernstein; 2. Steve Brandt…

Ward 7 is lucky to have such a good council member.

Hopefully, Ward 7 residents will reelect CM Cashman this November!
The people are now out and the building is getting boarded up. Thank you Danny from rightaway construction for your help.🙏

This building has been vacant and condemned for too long. I believe the owner needs to be forced to sell or demo at this point. Oak grove neighbors deserve better.
thank you katie cashman for coming down to 200 oak grove, c david george’s loring park building, to help the company regulatory services contracted to secure building. people were inside, she called police to help and they’ve yet to come. keep driving by without stopping
