And it wasn't much of an apology.

That's interesting. I never thought of quotes being used ironically - but I work in history. We're pretty literal!

I can see that. But in the context of his whole statement & the fact that he said another state or another country, it didn't seem like he meant it that way. My biggest objection was that the poster used quotes, so if you just read the post, you'd think that was exactly what he said.

That post suggests that this was an actual quote. It's not. It's an interpretation of what he said. I think the interpretation is off kilter. Most of what Cox said was pretty good. I can see how you could pull that from what he said, but it shouldn't be in quotes.

This does not look like two great tastes that taste great together.

But throwing a hoagie - that's a felony. Welcome to Trump's America.

Social media helps - lots & lots of brightly colored posters can help more. More people see them, photograph them & are on the lookout locally. We put up an insane # of posters - that's how we got our dog back. Everyone looked for her! Built community too!

If you have a nearby dog gone recovery volunteer group, contact them NOW. They helped find our Luna in CT-51 days gone. See their site for ideas. Dog-finding tips are counterintuitive. #1 : Post MANY posters w/ photo & your #. Posters saved Luna. www.ctdgrv.org. I feel for you & wish you the best.

This is a great list! Thank you. In Connecticut it's all Husky - I handled Medicaid for a relative and it took me a minute to realize that Husky was Medicaid.

I think we're seeing it.

This interview really hit me.

There is nothing like being in a crowd like this. I remember big marches leading up to the attack on Iraq and afterwards. It feels so good to know you are in solidarity with so many people.

I have watched this so many times. He's not just telling her what's what, he's educating the rest of us so that we can understand very clearly what should be happening and what is not happening and why that is not acceptable. Teaching us while telling her is really valuable.

Crystal clear explanations of what is happening & should be happening. I learned a lot. She should know this stuff already & do the right thing.

Thank you also for mentioning Pennington, from Hartford's Talcott Street Church. The church continues today in a different location, with a different name, but students are working to have the original site recognized. It was a hub of education, activism, community solidarity - and so much more.

Thank you for writing about the Amistad. I am director of the historic state house in Hartford where their 1st trials were held. When I walk into the courtroom where those men and children stood, I feel their presence & power. Anyone interested in the story should read Rediker's Amistad Rebellion.

And Hartford - you can still see the court room where the trials of the Amistad men & children started at CT's Old State House.

There's a lot to learn in this story - new book Schooling the Nation by Jennifer Rycenga - is a game changer in how we understand the magnitude of what happened, the organizing that made it happen, and the impact it had on our lives today.

And meanwhile over in Newark, masked ICE agents are roughing up legislators & arresting a mayor. This is wrong & it is so good to see people taking a stand for their neighbors. Community is everything.

Senator Murphy, thank you for clear & impassioned explanation of this situation. I'm glad you're my Senator.

Thank you for standing firm on Connecticut values.
