54 and I totally sympathise... 🤔🤣
44 years old and I've accepted most of the signs that I'm not a young man anymore: sprouting hair from ears/nose, expanding waistline, general aches and pains in joints. But what upsets me most is now having to hold my phone further away from me in order to be able to read it.

Sometimes you need to consider the previously unthinkable...
I started planning this column a while ago, but I kept imagining it wouldn't be necessary, as many other journalists would surely get there first. I've been scratching my head ever since, wondering "where is everyone?" Is this not a huge and obvious issue?
This week's column asks a question that should be in everyone's minds, as Trump reshapes the world's alliances:

How, given that our defence and security capacities are completely infiltrated by the US state, do we defend ourselves if the US becomes our opponent? www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Fantastic work from Macron!
The best way to confront a bully about the misinformation he is spreading is to confront him in front of everyone. Macron just did that.

100% agree with this!
Trump is on the brink of betraying Ukraine and the UK.

Britain must lead in Europe by increasing defence spending immediately and all political parties should get round the table to make that happen.

I fear what happens if we don't take this step.

US farmers sold $2 billion of food to USAID. Not any more.

- US farmers provided 41% of food delivered by USAID
- $340M of purchases/shipments are now paused. Over 680,000 tonnes.
- Food stranded in Houston
- Aid stopped in transit.

The world’s poor starving, food rotting & US farmers screwed.
Gutting USAID threatens billions of dollars for U.S. farms, businesses
U.S. businesses that sold goods and services to USAID are in limbo, including American farms dealing in rice, wheat and soybeans.
