In virtually any measurable sense (baring only overt, public, state sponsored antisemitism) Stalin was at least irrationally bloodthirsty as any Nazi you might care to name.

We were allied with him, doesn't mean he wasn't a pile of shit.
I’ve got HUGE problems with Stalin but this equivalence is insulting. Under no reasonable metric is the USSR, even at its most depraved and paranoid, as bad as Nazi Germany.
