Chronic lurker, people at work message and ask me for ‘a hammer and sickle chat’ when they want to check something or get info on our policy. I’m in a union, byline times subscriber for years, my social media is very angry politics and some hobbies.
I have one every 12 stitches (so over 30 now) and I still drop / gain stitches as I’m going. I can fix it but how do I get so lost!

Love it! Also I’m very here for your knitting projects photos! I’m following a pattern for a shawl and it turns out I can’t count for love nor money!

If the EHRC had their way we'd see all women forced back into wearing only skirts and dresses and wearing their hair long lest they be suspected of being trans and banned from going to the toilet.

That's what this is suggesting. Masculine women being denied access alongside trans people.

I’m interested in a talk about the medical history of Frankenstein, to be honest, I’m interested in most talks you might wish to do!

When is the headline to order a new ballot paper, why can’t we order a new ballot paper through the website. Also, why is ‘my details’ not accessible on the website?

Were the spots in Glasgow necropolis used for thwarting resurrectionists or used for more general holding? (I did a tour years ago and I can’t remember)

To be clear, I’m a green member, I’m voting green, they are the most aligned with my values. Nuclear is just the part I disagree with Green the most.
November 10, 2025 at 7:13 PM
I really respect your viewpoint, but I don’t agree with you on this. I hope you are right, but I think we are more likely to not invest in more nuclear, then get people thinking gas is good enough for renuables load balancing needs. I really hope I’m wrong but it’s my biggest issue with Green Party.

Yeah, if we have any hope of doing it successfully, Westminster has to be well out of it. And out of basically everything quite frankly.

Nuclear waste is a real problem, my question is, is 20 years of nuclear waste storage better or worse than 20 years of gas carbon in the atmosphere. I’m not pro nuclear long term, I think it’s better than gas considering how much carbon we have to deal with. But i really hope it’s a short term prob

Ok, I take it you are saying that that 20 years of power will be gas?

Also, we can spin up a modern smaller plant in 5 years, there are options. But decisions have to be made to act or accept that we will do 20 years of gas.
November 10, 2025 at 4:11 PM
I do see a future without nuclear, but not in the next 20 years. We either need energy storage or very different energy consumption models to make only rebusbles viable. Both /either will take significant time and work.

I think we aren’t ready yet, and when Torness goes offline, what are we going to replace its output with to cover spikes or renuables lulls? I think Germany showed it will be gas until we get renuables and storage sorted. Batteries are either land or precious metals drains.

The prediction was always that when boomers aged, they would force massive improvements to health care and elder services. Instead, the rich ones access private care, and the rest seem resigned to humiliating decline at the hands of rapacious capitalism.

💔 because outdoor cats often experience cruel treatment from people who lure them in with kindness. People are the worst.
