Life and light returning today in small glimpses.

Omg brr. Freyja is enjoying the snow much more than myself when she takes her time to potty at night. I won't begrudge her wonder, but damnit this CA girl is cold!

Spring's frozen cloak brings me hope and joy today. I've never had my own home before where I could pre-plant spring bulbs and enjoy them bursting forth. Daffodils, tulips, lily of the valley, and hellebore are sprouting through the snow.

Freyja and I are out of surgery and home! She got spayed. I had my gallbladder removed, twice. I had such an odd case for gallbladder removal that for pt2, this super famous surgeon flew in from Issaquah.

Nope. No scary GSDs here. Just a giant miniature Northwestern Couch Snail. She loves pets and long walks lined with steak.

Soon I'll be getting Freyja evaluated for Service Dog training. I'll be interviewing a few trainers in the next few days. It's a big investment, I know, but it will change both our lives positively!
What's that I'm feeling...hope?

The dogs were good today! I mean, mostly. It's been very chilly but my GSD isn't bothered by the cold. I should take her "up to the snow" soon so I can introduce her to it. The joy of "first experiences" is still motivating for me.

This semester I have students analyze games through the "Narrative Lens". The 3rd game I have them experience is "Inscryption". Today, a student arrived with a heartwarming gift for me, a 3D printed copy of Leshy's bell from the game table. It rings! I did ask to ensure no actual teeth were used.
