I’m also interested in these syllabi! Working to formulate a class on varieties of reading (close, distant, paranoid, reparative, social, etc) 📚
This is great and I'd been thinking of using Guillory's book in a class next semester. Does anyone here teach a class on reading strategies and willing to share the syllabus?
I wrote about close reading. What it is, why it matters, and what John Guillory gets right and wrong in his recent On Close Reading. Offers a sneak peek of a little of what @johannawinant.bsky.social and I are up to in our forthcoming Close Reading for the 21C

this is what happens when artists take classes in media theory: they make incredibly ceramic tiles of the first page of McLuhan's "The Medium is the Message" and Heidegger's "The Question Concerning Technology" as part of their presentation! I mean really, people. Look at these things 😍

Honored to have and hold this gorgeous piece by @quinnanya.me, in its embroidery-loop-astronaut-helmet!
Now that it's in the hands of @spotvin.bsky.social a #DHmakes embroidery reveal: "I am the sin eater" (in fuzzy letters because the law is too), a reflection on corpus creation from the IMLS Data Speculations forum. Subtle Scihub and Libgen logos in there too along with "dead elephant" in binary. 🧶
