personally I'm most comfortable with the thermostat set to 60 during the day and 56 at night, with the help of heating pads and occasionally (when agreed upon!) temporarily raising it a bit.

-different people are comfortable at different temperatures. what feels good to you may just be too warm for someone else in the winter
-a strategic heating pad goes a long way, is cheaper than increasing central heat, and doesn't overheat your roommates

an obvious solution that comes to mind most to me would be for phone companies to support more repair centers and replacement parts to provide an additional revenue source
