Maryland Renn Faire single day tickets went on sale at 10am ET this morning. This is what I saw at 5pm ET.

In 40 minutes it's dropped to 42520 people. So it's dropping roughly 100 people per minute. So 425 more minutes to wait, or y'know, just 7 hours

Outside of the National Mall, Rock Creek Park, and the monuments & memorials, maintenance of those areas depends on NPS's funding in the federal budget which is often lacking.

A clear example of this are the perpetually "under repair" fountains in Dupont Circle and Malcom X/Meridian Hill Park.

I love that DC's @wmata.com does a rewind of your use of the system each year.

I'm kind of surprised that two-thirds of metro users take fewer than 45 trips a year. I suppose that's likely inflated by tourists who get a card for a weekend or a week while they're visiting.
