There are two end of year parties that are happening tonight. Since they keep getting scheduled on the same night, the polite thing for me to do is decline both invitations.

I picked up a novel and a romance novel at the library this week. I'm so excited to read good fluff.
I've tried to make sure I'm reading things that are important and help me learn about things I don't know. I feel like I have SO MANY blindspots, but my brain needs a break.

I was thinking about doing takeout for turkey but I think I decided to make baked ziti instead. I'm slightly nervous as I live in a land that has seemingly no Italians, which means no salumerias nearby. We'll see how this goes.

I was using my work phone today and was sending a message to my team that I was "getting coffee then omw".
Very glad I looked before hitting send as the message said "getting off then omw". I would have been sent straight to HR.

I had an absolutely fantastic girls weekend with my college friends and we started this. I'm not usually one for true crime but this has been really good. J. Smith Cameron was in the premiere!
I got obsessed with this insanely twisted story of southern family dynasty, narcissistic enmeshment & affluenza when the documentaries came out and the miniseries is really excellent so far!!

I know they say the phones don't listen to us, but over the weekend my friend mentioned a clothing company I'd never heard of & their jeans. She said they fit her curves, felt like butter, but were $$$, so she didn't buy them.

At the gate and overheard two middle school teachers speaking about the lesson plans they've been doing with their 7th and 8th graders. You could hear how much they cared about their students and the efforts they were making to teach them history.

I just sat a restaurant bar and had a burger that absolutely hit the spot. I watched the bartenders make so many old-fashioneds. I had iced tea. Nothing like a bar menu and a good book. 😊

Sometimes I listen to music from the 80s & 90s and my stomach hurts from the nostalgia. I figure it's some type of anxiety response that makes this happen & there are some memories tied too tightly to the music to ignore.
I can only listen to snippets of some songs. Nostalgia is a powerful beast.
