in practice the state of xiv doesn't mean that i don't enjoy the game when i play it or that i'm not excited for patches. but it is true that i used to play xiv every day for months and now i play it for a month and then move on. i personally think this is fine though

i do think that dawntrail is a good expac and that its story is not worse than previous 14 expac stories (which people have rose tinted glasses for now). dawntrail's problem is absolutely a lack of content though... and imo this problem started a long time ago in covid when the long patches debuted

its actually so funny how good that track at the end of the trailer is. i almost feel bad for how much it blasts everything else in the trailer out of the water

I do think xiv limsa would be improved if people could have pvp duels there at any time for any reason. It would suit the atmosphere too

where winds meet is such a weird fucking game. i am familiar with wuxia as a genre so all that stuff doesnt bother me but its still an incredibly weird game. stumbled into an "animal frolicking" session where people do tai chi and occasionally go insane and turn into bears

For ouj i have the font size being pretty tiny because everyone in xiv is verbose as fuck. but there is also just the reality that colloquial english can be a little too verbose for a comic speech bubble sometimes and when you trim it down it becomes terse and unnatural

My other unreasonable complaint is that i kind of hate it when they put the punctuation on a newline. I get the bubbles are skinny but i just don't like how it reads

I'm a little mad that the mangadex explosion seems to have been the demise of the dungeon meshi scanlations because i think the official translations lag far behind the scans. Just much less fluent and natural sounding to me

everything is so discouraging man. i do think i work too hard. i might feel the same about how hard i work even if i was the most successful author in the world. but even when i try to take a break i kinda feel like i might not know how to have fun anymore either
