I’m guessing this was patched at some point cuz it took me a while to find this, but yeah originally he just didn’t have a texture on his face in the PS3 collection version of this cutscene

Y’know with the way this show has been going, I have to imagine Optimus’s thought process during his self-imposed exile at the end of Armada went something like this

Something I've noticed with the CG animation in this show is that it's still directed like the 2D stuff. Like this is a type of shot very common to anime. But it's being done with these really clumsy looking models and floaty animation typical of early CG so it's very odd.
