It's crazy to reading out loud that I've been on social media for more than 15 years. It's historically been in service of a travel career. But perhaps this becomes more of a space to talk about psychology and mental healthy things like I've been doing on Substack dinnerpartyconvos.substack.com

The last few years has been such a journey of exploring my family history, addressing the impact of multi-generational trauma, and creating a new way of moving through the world as a man. This seemed like a good starting place for exploring patriarchy's impact, the science, and my own journey.
Would it be so bad if we created a culture of healthy masculinity?
The first in a series of essays exploring patriarchy, masculinity, and my own personal journey.

Every February for the last few years Reimagined (formerly Anti-Racism Daily) has delivered a daily newsletter for the month of February for Black History Month. These stories of Black history couldn't come at a more important time. I can't recommend it enough: www.28daysofblackhistory.com

I've been keeping up a little Substack over the last year or so. And I loved writing this essay about happiness and learning to love winter (which I say through gritted teeth 😂) dinnerpartyconvos.substack.com/p/what-can-w...
What can we learn about wintering from the coldest, happiest countries in the world?
If you’ve been here for a while, then you may be starting to gather that I have something of a obsession fascination with the seasons.

Wrote about 13 community food solutions amid the Eaton and Palisades fires for @civileats.com. Through nourishment of our bodies and souls, we can rebuild. Hope this can be a resource on how we can sustain while we take it day by day to reconstruct what has been lost.

Is this where we're gathering? Call me a romantic or sentimental, but I still want to believe in the power of social media, especially as someone who's experienced it firsthand. So it's been interesting reading about this decentralization goal + @bsky.app this week hyperallergic.com/985244/a-new...

My mid- to late 20s were HARD and lonely. And relationships I made on Twitter, many of whom have become close friends, were like a balm. I've grieved where social media has been heading for years, and have missed the "social" part of it. Is Bluesky making community cool and relevant? What say y'all?

I deleted Twitter a while ago, which I grieved, especially considering how much work and how many friendships came from it. I didn't save my tweets, but today I found some 2009 tweets, shortly after I started it. They are RICH. To think that people have been paying me to write words for 15 years.
