Dipping into my treasured one box of cocoa so I could make us all some much needed hot chocolate. Grateful that because of the kindness of my internet friends & strangers alike, I was able to buy the milk needed to make this for us. It's been so cold and this is exactly what we needed. Thank you.

A lot has been happening lately that's emotionally and physically taxing. But no matter what, the stars have always got me. Under these Ancients is where I can always, always find peace.

A pitch black night sky littered with some of the brightest stars in the October night sky. The main focus in centered upon Orion, The Hunter: Betelgeuse, Meissa, Bellatrix, Saiph, and Rigel are crisp and clear around the three slanted stars of Orion's Belt, but several more stars that make Orion up are visible as well, including four from his shield. Diagonally from Bellatrix is the constellation Taurus, in which Aldebaran is the brightest and easiest to see. Directly below Orion is Lepus, the Hare: ten of the stars that make Lepus up are clearly visible, allowing the full shape of it to be made out. To the left of Lepus is much of Canis Major, including Sirius, who is the brightest star in the photo (and the night sky). Only a handful of its' stars are visible; aside from Sirius is Mirzam (Beta Canis Major) to Sirius' immediate right, a few of it's dimmer stars, and what I think is either Wezen (Delta CM) or Adhara (Epsilon CM). One can just barely make out two of Monoceros' stars directly above Sirius and Mirzam, the much fainter constellation that fills the space to the left of Orion. One of those stars is Beta Monocerotis. At the top lefthand side of the image is most of the constellation Gemini, although the twins themselves, Castor and Pollux, are not in the image. They, and Jupiter, are just out of frame. Alhena is the brightest of them. To the very top center are are two stars: Zeta Tauri (part of Taurus) and above it, Elnath (part of Auriga, the rest is out of frame.) This photo is from a smartphone, nothing fancy, which is why everything appears bright white instead of their actual colors. All star knowledge is my own and may contain inaccuracies.

We still have to wipe everything remaining down & rip off (& sharpie on) canned food labels, but it was fucking painful to throw out food that was not expired. Sugar (cane & powdered) dried potatoes, flour, cereal, protein powder chocolate milk that they were INFESTED in somehow despite the lid. 1/
Ellery's (a white person) hand and inner wrist held out to show a pantry mother larvae crawling down her forearm. It's very tiny and yellowish green in color. Despite looking innocent, this little fucker and it's kin are why we had to toss so much food. A yellow pantry with four long white wire shelves that is mostly empty. On the top shelf is a blue reusable fabric bag full of plastic baggies that says "Beach Planet" in white text, next to it is a plastic ziplock bag with medicine and scattered in front are liquid white glue bottles. On the second shelf are three reusable canisters: one with brown sugar on top of one with granulated sugar, next to a tall one that has maybe two inches of flour inside. On the other side is an empty plastic container next to another that has a ziplock bag full of ziplock bags and another full of canning lids and rings. The third shelf is empty save a random paintbrush. The fourth shelf has canned goods in one corner and in the other an assortment of things: expired Karo syrup and corn syrup I couldn't make myself throw away because they haven't been opened, nestle cocoa powder, olive oil cooking spray, aluminum free baking powder, a small bottle of olive oil, vanilla, corn starch, and baking yeast in glass jars with blue lids. On the floor there are more canned goods, a case of yellow body armor, and a tuberware container of unopened cereal bags, ziplock bags of pasta, some crackers, and an unopened bag of brown sugar and powdered sugar each.

We're one of the only bee-friendly yards in my neighborhood and while it makes me sad for the bees, it also makes me happy because they know we've got their backs. A few of our gorgeous ladies in my organic garden featuring some of the coolest pollen pants around!

She has huge pollen pants (pollen pockets as science calls them) on her back legs that she has collected from my numerous cosmos in my garden. Her wings are tucked tight across her back as she drinks nectar from the flower. A large baby pink cosmos bloom is in the center of the fame, brightly constasting with the green shrubbery and trees behind it. The thin green stem that holds it aloft is coming up diagonally from the bottom right of the frame. The center of the cosmos is a bright, cheery yellow. On that center there is a bee who is covered in bright yellow pollen. She has huge pollen pants (pollen pockets as science calls them) on her back legs that she has collected from my numerous cosmos in my garden. Her wings are tucked tight across her back as she drinks nectar from the flower. In the bright noontime sun you can see how translucent her wings are. A different baby pink cosmos bloom is in the center of the fame, brightly constasting with the drab garden bed behind it, filled mostly with the dying browns of fallen leaves and aged wooden slats on the fence. The center of the cosmos is a bright, cheery yellow. On that center there is a wild honey bee who only has a dusting of pollen on her body. Her translucent wings are spread out from her back as she drinks nectar from the flower.

I couldn’t leave the beach without marking one of the most important anniversaries of my life: #Supernatural turning 20. #SPN20 is especially insane when you consider it ran for 15 of those years! #SPNFamily are in it for the long haul and I couldn't be more proud to be on this road with y'all.

If I could cause just a teensy tiny brown out right now I would so I could see the Milky Way because what do you mean I have a perfect view of Sagittarius and Sorpius???? Constellations I can never see at home due to trees! This is the view from our porch and I never want to leave.

Had about 30 great minutes outside before horrendous laundry started up... however! I had my first s'mores in a decade!!! I got to roast marshmallows with my husband and kids (OK Maggie supervised, but we can't hold her lack of thumbs against her) and we ate s'mores and gooey marshmallows together!!
