I've spent more than a year investigating housing insecurity in tribal communities across Montana. Part 1 of our series, The Shelter Gap, explains how the housing shortage thwarts the development of a middle class on reservations, perpetuating cycles of poverty. montanafreepress.org/2025/09/29/h...
No roads home: How a chronic housing shortage keeps reservation communities in crisis.
Part 1 of a three-part series examining barriers to buying, renting and building homes on reservation land and highlighting the community benefits of secure housing.

Never sure what form abundance will take in the garden from year to year, but this year it's a mass of pom pom shaped marigolds. Drying the petals for now until inspiration strikes. Maybe I'll give plant dyes a try. #gardeningfeed

Occasionally I'll run into an especially appealing unplanned plant combination in the yard and I wonder if it's a happy accident or if the plant kingdom led me there. Here it's Culver's root and ornamental oregano nearing full bloom in shared pinkish purple tones. #gardeningfeed #bloomscrolling

I can usually find bumblebees backing out butt first from the tubular flowers of this Rocky Mountain penstemon. It's a small thing I always take delight in this time of year (on warmer days). #BloomScrolling #NativePlants

Great article by Dana O'Driscoll of the AODA, on how Druids (and others) can develop honorable relationships with Nature, rather than seeing it only as a resource for use by humans. /|\

In the arid region of northwestern Kenya, the Turkana people have perfected the art of building homes that are practical, portable, and sustainable. Known as "ekaru", these circular homes are crafted using locally available materials like wooden poles, palm leaves, grasses, and animal hides.
