Whenever I see these articles I just want to ask the people running these companies where they think they're going to get new senior developers from if they stop hiring juniors and sadly I think they're just hoping AI tools get good enough before it becomes issue (it won't)

For a while I assumed they just didn't want to upset Musk - and by association Trump - by removing the whole government from Twitter, but now Musk is virtually in hiding that doesn't hold up any more, so I have no good excuses for them.

I bought a £30 conbee usb dongle, plugged it into my pi with an extension cable, and started pairing stuff to it. Only caveat is the IKEA pairing instructions are "wrong" if you're not using their app so you have to look up how to pair them.

I don't disagree, but then make that argument, don't try and pretend it's illegal and that's the reason we shouldn't do it.

That's without even addressing the substance of their claim, which would also rule out a bunch of other countries (unclear borders, unstable government, etc).
