And notable, CA is overwhelmingly a services-based economy but has no sales tax on services, which most states do. It's crazy. I pay more sales tax on a hamburger than a silicon valley tech company does for a $10M IT services contract

thanks for noticing! Journalists never mentions the declining demand as a major factor for the refinery closures. Also, no mention of the low utilization rates at refineries - they're all producing less than what they could & the under-utilization is growing www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...

If bluff stabilization for the homes was approved (very questionable), that would most likely be the homeowners' responsibilities. With the current erosion rates 6 in./year, that won't be needed for many decades after the existing armoring is removed. The most narrow spot is ~60 feet from a home
