Overeducated. Grammatically feminine. Pedantic in a fun way. Bad at selfies.
I write sci-fi and biblical studies (not together YET). Will edit anything you put in front of me.
We as a society learned nothing from Pleasantville and it shows.

I have the short version:

Mary Sue originally meant "obvious author self-insert in fan fiction, respected and adored by established characters to a humorous degree"

Now it means "any woman who displays 1/5 of the abilities James Bond regularly displays."

Get it? Got it? Good.

Super not a lawyer, but if racial discrimination is legal in federal hiring now, does that mean that Affirmative Action is legal again, too?

Sunny and cold is worse than rainy and cold because my dog keeps bothering me to open the door and let her outside.

Meteorologists say the Los Angeles fires were caused by drought and gale-force winds. But a growing mass of X users suspect a different cause: DEI.

In which I say something pithy and engagement-driving, and then do it again and again every day.

At least 30 times daily I ask Iris whether she is, in fact, a dog.

In my defense, she acts like a cat 90% of the time so it's reasonable to be confused.

Update on the fantasy attempt: 10k words (holidays + PTO is a great combination, 10/10, would recommend), and no it's not thinly veiled Dragon Age fanfic that I'll fix in edits, why would you think that?

Discovery writing (pantsing) is so cool because you're halfway through an action scene going, OMG I wonder if they're going to make it.

Out of the confirmed #odyssey cast list, who do you think is playing Telemachus and why did you pick Tom Holland?

Obviously this is an Alan Rickman stan account, but in another timeline Sam Neill played Hans Gruber, and I want to trade with them just for like a day.

Interviewer: Can you explain this gap in your resume?

New Testament scholar: Unfortunately it's lost. But I've reconstructed a full job description and several performance reviews by comparing documents from later positions.

Theologian: It’s an ineffable mystery.

Trying my hand at high fantasy. No worldbuilding in the first draft, just vibes and tropes. Stranger comes to town? Check. Evil cultists? Check. Denial of the call? At least two separate characters. Vaguely Anglo-German names with one or two letters off? All day every day.

My problem with Christianity is that "For my sins" is a 💯 perfect deflection it's completely unusable in any fantasy setting that doesn't have a strong penance-based spirituality.
