Newts enjoyed exploring the properties of different materials in Science. We considered how some materials can change shape permanently and how some materials can change temporarily. We then used our scientific skills to arrange the materials into a Carroll Diagram!

Year 1 have been subtracting using the part whole model to help us. Some of us can work the equations out in our heads but can we prove our answers! Great discussion from our mathematicians this week!

Starlings have loved learning about the planets in our Solar System! We looked at the different colours and features of the planets, then recreated these by marble rolling paint over our circles. Slightly messy… very fun!

The Pine Martens have had a fantastic week in maths! Exploring angles and identifying right angles around the classroom!
November 27, 2025 at 4:27 PM
In maths, Lynxes have been exploring polygons with equal sides and angles then using their discoveries to investigate and solve perimeter problems with confidence.
November 27, 2025 at 3:42 PM
Using sticks, Adders worked together to build polygons with different numbers of sides. They experimented with pentagons, hexagons and even more complex shapes, discussing what makes each shape unique. It was a fun activity that helped them understand sides, vertices, and the properties of polygons!

Wolves are continuing their work on perimeter by sorting regular and irregular polygons according to their properties and perimeters
