Two political families with histories of large-scale abuse are competing for public favor in the Philippines. The political competition revolves around reputational damage control rather than meaningful change or accountability. No policy arguments, only mudslinging. A spectacle, and a grim one.

Women’s month comes to a close today but the work continues. This year, I was invited to a conversation reflecting on the roles of women’s rights organizations as agents of change, organized by the UK Embassy Manila. Happy to also see advocates and allies like Atty Leni Robredo in attendance. 💜

Sharing our attempt to contribute to tackling a longstanding issue faced by Filipino youth.

Adolescent pregnancy is not solely the "private trouble" of girls. The problem is necessarily public, with corresponding complex social policy options.
