This memoir is a poetic, unruly, and deeply honest portrait of what it was like to be the only openly queer rock band member of the 1990s and how this life was lived at full tilt, recommend!

Took the kids to explore the hauntingly beautiful ruins of St Peter’s Seminary near Cardross yesterday. Once a Roman Catholic seminary designed by Gillespie, Kidd & Coia, it’s now a modernist relic — described by Docomomo International as a “building of world significance.”

Sorley has been so excited for Celebrity Traitors that he decided to portrait them all, personal highlights are Alan Carr and Lucy Beaumont 😉😂

Finally read Heather Parry’s Orpheus Builds a Girl—a chilling, brilliant gothic novel. Twisted love, control, and obsession meet razor-sharp critique. Fans of @agrayarchive.bsky.social’s Poor Things will love it too, highly recommend.

Last night, I finally watched Rebel Dykes, a powerful documentary tracing the journey of a tight-knit group of friends who first met in the 1980s at the Greenham Common peace camp and later became artists, musicians, performers, and activists in 1980s London. Highly recommend.

July 4, 2025 at 12:23 PM
Day 4 glorious visit to the Hepworth Wakefield with inspiring Helen Chadwick and Elizabeth Fritsch works ❤️

July 3, 2025 at 7:15 AM
Day 2 @artfund.bsky.social Museum of the Year 2025 Beamish Museum, a formative experience for me when young and the smalls loved it too.

Had a fun afternoon at Romanfest produced by Hydra Arts. At Morven Mulgrew’s Museum of Imagined Things we trebucheted some clay,, made coins, pots & portraits. Sewed with Emma Henderson & listened to a spoken word reading by Oli Higham which spoke to current times.

So much to take away particularly in light of last weeks events, most notably O’Brien’s persistence to continue down that blue road to let others see it too. Let no one else undermine your right to be and to tell your story.

Fife fun times ☀️
April 11, 2025 at 12:25 PM
The Isle of May, full of guillemots, shags, puffins and gulls. As we circled the perimeter a peregrine falcon flew over swarmed by gulls. Kept thinking it be such a brilliant setting for a tartan noir thriller…

Spent the morning helping Willa’s class @kelvindaleps.bsky.social release their small trouts they’d been caring for thanks to the brilliant Clyde in the Classroom. What a big journey these wee guys have been on with the biggest one now lying ahead, there were a few tears as they were released 🥲
