Here's what we saw in the north!

Using ourselves as a frame of reference for other organisms is logical. Thinking humans are the exception in studies on organism behavior is illogical when everything else about our bodies shows we are more similar than different to life on earth.

I know that Jane Goodall really first introduced parts of this idea into her research on chimpanzees, but I think it needs to be expanded to include much more than we currently do. Like some people are still extremely skeptical of the study that showed play behavior in bumblebees.

So if we take what we know about human behavior and cognition (which again we are animals) and apply it to other animals exhibiting those same things, wouldn't that give us better insight into their world than assuming their experience is nothing like our own?

So humans are animals. It is very accepted that hands and paws are the same structure just slightly different in development. Why don't we treat behavior and cognition in the same way? As a feature of an organism that can be modified and passed down from generation to generation.
