Thank you so much! I tried to centre Elizabeth's story as much as possible, and correct myths about her. I knew some readers wouldn't like the speculative aspects of the book! Thank you for your kind words 😊

In the instances where we lack evidence, I explain why I reached the conclusion I did. As the reader says, I had to speculate due to a lack of direct primary source evidence.

I want to stress that there are many points where we can be certain about Elizabeth's whereabouts and actions. Her life is more documented than even I thought going into this project, and I tried to make it clear where we have direct evidence and where we don't.

This isn't surprising - I expected that some readers wouldn't enjoy where I used educated speculation to place Elizabeth at certain times in her life and consider what she might have thought or felt.
