My statement on the Governor signing H307 into law.

By the end of next year, 42 million Americans won’t have healthcare. #republicanvalues

We voted against this budget because it’s not a good budget. It doesn’t fund Medicaid — even as coverage for 3.1 million North Carolinians is threatened. It doesn’t fund raises for our teachers. And it neglects our true constitutional duty: passing a REAL budget for this biennium.

Republicans say a bill to ban books and punish LGBTQIA people for existing is to “protect women” but when given an opportunity to actually protect women…

Truly shameful. We know that letting anyone carry a gun means more deaths — HUNDREDS more annually in our state. We must break the supermajority in the Senate so that we can uphold the Governor’s vetoes on gun sense, immigration, corporate greed and LGBTQ rights.
