what has happened to The Times? every national newspaper is a wacky tabloid now
November 28, 2025 at 10:47 AM
Chris Mason is capable of being a good chief political correspondent, but not for the BBC. he'd be a better fit elsewhere

asset rich, cash poor, something something
November 26, 2025 at 11:27 PM
if they get rid, that means a one term Labour government is less likely. i think you need to hope they keep Starmer and Reeves
November 26, 2025 at 10:07 PM
even if that's what happens, it less likely he'll go now, and her much less so. it's the party that has to get rid of them, and the party is very happy after today
November 26, 2025 at 9:28 PM
that's much less likely now
November 26, 2025 at 9:06 PM
glad there was some time for light remarks. it's all the better that this was delivered by the first woman chancellor
November 26, 2025 at 3:50 PM
oh thank god

please be a bot, *please*
November 25, 2025 at 3:35 PM
even leaving aside oddness of this, can you imagine the vox pops from Manchester high street if king-of-the-North Andy Burnham said sod-off to the Mancs, packed up and moved to *NORFOLK*, just for a third shot at being PM?
November 19, 2025 at 4:01 PM
oh it's a promo. sorry my bad
November 18, 2025 at 6:59 PM
what about rape?
November 18, 2025 at 6:42 PM
ah, never mind. have a follow-back
November 18, 2025 at 2:08 PM
oh I'm serious, it got proper tinfoil by the end. it's been a few years now so you forget, but there were people nodding along to this kind of lunacy at points

Exclusive to Davidicke.com: Street artist Mear One responds to ‘anti-Semitic’ painting hysteria
By Mear One. I’ve received nearly a dozen msm interview requests over the past several days. After falling into one of their traps early on, I decided the only platform, apart from my own, that I wil...

it was a conspiracist racist opposition though, there's no change here
November 18, 2025 at 12:47 PM
well of they don't care they wouldn't have done it
November 17, 2025 at 10:32 PM
this is exactly the sort of better quality of life quick win that should have been done a year ago
November 17, 2025 at 10:07 PM
this angle doesn't work remember, because the special Ukrainian visa scheme never had a route to UK settlement built in to it even from the beginning, so there's no change in this case
November 15, 2025 at 8:57 AM
there won't be many opportunities to do it if not now. however hard it is now it'll be harder later

which is perfectly fine, because I'm only commenting on what Owen's said, nothing else
November 12, 2025 at 5:01 PM
Owen you don't know this person. be normal
November 12, 2025 at 2:17 PM
specifically on editorial decisions, this is the correct response. if you're defending a British institution because of its political impartiality, that cuts both ways
November 11, 2025 at 2:06 PM
the explanation is 1) because it would be much worse, and 2) because people want it this way

even if the BBC falls short of it's public ideals of impartiality, accuracy and un-emotional reporting, having those standards makes other media seem biased and silly.

but, sadly, some people want that
